Meta Muse Charm: price, release date, specs & accessories

Meta's keychain-sized AI companion is the most interesting gadget of the 2026 holidays — and almost nothing about it is confirmed. Here's everything we actually know, with confirmed facts separated from press reports and rumors.

The short version

The Muse Charm is Meta's pendant-style standalone device for its Muse AI agent, revealed at Connect 2026. Meta targets a December 2026 launch but has announced no price, no firm date, and no preorder — only an email signup. Reported specs include a ~2-inch touchscreen, built-in 5G, and fingerprint tap-to-talk. No accessories exist yet, first- or third-party.

Price & release date

A note on the retailers you'll see named in Connect coverage — Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, Gap and others are Muse agent shopping connectors (places the AI can shop for you), not confirmed sellers of the Charm device itself. Don't confuse the two.

We'll update this table the moment Meta announces a price or date. Last checked: October 1, 2026.

Accessories: the honest picture

Direct answer

No Muse Charm accessories exist yet. Meta hasn't announced any first-party cases, straps, or chargers, and no third-party listings exist anywhere. That's expected: the device's final dimensions aren't set, so accessory makers literally cannot tool up yet.

Here's what we expect the accessory market to look like once hardware is final — based on the established template of Apple Watch keychain cases, straps, and bag charms (thousands of listings across Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and Etsy, driven by the TikTok trend of wearing old Apple Watches as bag charms):

Cases & covers
The first category to appear. Expect clear shells showing off the translucent finish, plus rugged bumpers.
Straps, lanyards & bag charms
The device ships with a cord, but fashion straps and bag-charm mounts are where the volume will be — this is a jewelry-adjacent device.
Screen protectors
A ~2-inch touchscreen in a pocket/keychain device will need them. Tempered glass and film.
Charging docks
Unknown port/charging method so far — we'll cover first-party and third-party options once confirmed.

What we'll do when hardware ships

We buy the accessories ourselves and publish exact fitment measurements — which cases actually fit, which straps attach securely, which screen protectors align. A listing that says "fits" and a case that actually fits are two different things, and that's the data this site exists to provide.

The skeptical case (we'd rather you hear it from us)

We're building coverage around this device, so we owe you the counter-argument:

December looks ambitious.
Meta admits only a few prototype units exist and the component layout isn't final. CTO Bosworth called it an "exploration" product. Read December as intent, not inventory.
Meta's hardware record is rough.
Portal, the Meta smartwatch, and Quest Pro were all killed; Reality Labs has lost nearly $80B since 2020.
The category has a graveyard.
Humane's AI Pin went from $699 to a $116M fire sale to HP in about ten months. The Rabbit R1 sold 100K units but kept ~5,000 daily users. Dedicated AI gadgets have a brutal track record.
Our position.
That's exactly why our coverage is structured around confirmed-vs-reported facts, and why we'll say so — loudly — if the launch slips or the device underwhelms. If Meta still has no firm price, date, or inventory commitment by late November, we'll tell you to wait.

FAQ

How much will the Muse Charm cost?
Meta hasn't said. Bloomberg reports "smartwatch-level" pricing; some analysts guess $99–$199. Treat all of it as unconfirmed.
When does it come out?
Meta's target is December 2026. No firm date has been announced.
Can I preorder?
Not yet — only an email "Notify me" signup on Meta's product page.
Does it work without a phone?
Reportedly yes for daily use (built-in 5G), but you'll need the Muse app and a Muse account to set it up.
Is it a Tamagotchi?
Not literally — but the comparison is apt. It's a small companion device with a customizable avatar ("Jolly") that you talk to. Meta's pitch: the fastest way to talk to your Muse AI without pulling out your phone.
Should I buy one at launch?
We can't recommend a product with no price, no firm date, and no hands-on reviews. Our advice: wait for real reviews and our fitment-tested accessory guides.
